The story behind Mind Vault Tech Wave
Aiko Murakami opened Mind Vault Tech Wave in the spring of 2019 from a small studio apartment in Daikanyama, Tokyo. She had spent the previous six years as a pattern cutter for a mid-size swimwear label in Shibuya, where she learned how to build a garment that holds its shape in salt water and still looks considered on a sun-lounger. What she could not learn there was patience. The label moved fast, restocked everything, and treated fabric as a cost to be minimised. She left in January 2019 and spent three months visiting mills in Kyoto and one in Como before cutting a single pattern.

What to look for in recycled nylon swimwear
Recycled nylon has become the default fabric claim for swimwear brands over the last five years. Most of it is made from reclaimed fishing nets or post-industrial nylon waste, which is genuinely better than virgin nylon in terms of carbon footprint. We carry XS through 3XL in every style. Fit notes are written by the team, not a size chart algorithm, and updated after each production run.
Small production runs
We make between 40 and 120 units per style. When a piece sells out, it is gone. We do not restock simply because something was popular.

Aiko Murakami
Aiko Murakami trained as a pattern cutter at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, graduating in 2013. She spent six years at a Shibuya-based swimwear label before leaving in January 2019 to start Mind Vault Tech Wave. The first collection was photographed in Hayama on a grey October morning. She sources fabric in person, travelling to Kyoto twice a year and to Como once. On quiet mornings she plays Ryuichi Sakamoto records while she cuts. Her regular, Yuki, has been ordering since the second collection and still emails to ask which new pieces will suit a Bali trip.

How do I know which size to order?
Each product page has a fit note written by the team after the production run, not a generic size chart. We include the model's measurements and the size she is wearing. If you are between sizes, write to us. Aiko or Saki will look at the specific piece and give you a straight answer.
Q02
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to most countries via Japan Post EMS. Delivery to Europe and North America typically takes seven to twelve business days. Customs duties are the buyer's responsibility. We mark packages accurately on customs forms and do not undervalue.
Q03
What is your return policy?
Unworn, unaltered pieces with tags attached can be returned within fourteen days of delivery for a store credit. We do not offer cash refunds, but store credit does not expire. Swimwear and lingerie that has been tried on without a hygiene liner in place cannot be returned, for obvious reasons.
